On this Teacher’s Day, the first teacher who comes to mind is my secondary school Science teacher, who taught me the importance of curiosity and precision. In the world of investing, my favourite ā€œstock teacherā€ would be Howard Marks—his memos are clear, disciplined, and deeply insightful. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to sharpen their understanding of risk and market psychology. To all teachers, whether in classrooms, boardrooms, or even through books and online platforms: thank you for reminding us that true learning is less about having the right answers, and more about asking the right questions. Happy Teacher's Day to the people around me who believed in me, inspire me, encourage me. You are the reason why I grew to be the person I am today. Stronger, motivated, and discipline. I would like to thank the people who did not believe in me, and said that I would not make it because that certainly pushes me to be better and to prove to everyone that I am not the same person as the image you had in your head. And now, I became a Teacher myself for my full time job while I teach/inspire people on how to invest their money for the long term.

Wishing all teachers a very Happy Teacher’s Day! Teaching comes with immense responsibility and requires so much passion, and I truly appreciate all the teachers who have touched my life and my children’s. Their dedication is truly admirable. I’m still in touch with my economics teacher thanks to Facebook :) I also hope to reconnect with my Chinese teacher, who never gave up on me. My chemistry teacher was also very inspiring but he has since passed on …. Treasure every teacher and be thankful for all the knowledge that we can learn it may not be useful now but will shape one’s thinking and determination

The first ā€œteacherā€ who comes to mind for me is the market itself — strict, unpredictable, but always teaching. My favourite ā€œstock teacherā€ would be Howard Marks. His memos are timeless lessons in risk, cycles, and humility. I’d recommend him to anyone who wants to learn how to think, not just what to buy. A note of thanks: to every mentor (human or book) who reminded me that patience often pays better than speed, and that protecting capital is the real test of skill. The market may hand out harsh grades, but thanks to good teachers, at least we’re better prepared for the exam.

My greatest teachers in life have always been my parents. They were the first to open my eyes to the importance of savings, budgeting, and living within my means—lessons that have shaped the way I approach life and its challenges. But beyond the practical teachings, they have instilled in me values that go far deeper—integrity, kindness, resilience, and the strength to always choose what’s right, no matter the cost. Their love, unwavering support, and constant guidance have been my greatest blessings. I am forever grateful for the profound impact they’ve had on my life, and I will carry their lessons with me always.

For me, my ā€œstock teacherā€ isn’t just one person, but a mix of voices and experiences. I’ve learned a lot from users in the Tiger Community — their analysis and perspectives often spark new ways of thinking, and I truly value that. It feels like a place where we grow together, regardless of experience level. I also see my own trading journey as a teacher. The best lessons come from actual experience — making trades, learning from mistakes, and reflecting on both wins and losses. Each outcome has shaped how I manage risk and spot opportunities. Over time, these lessons have built the foundation of my confidence in the market. Lastly, I’m grateful for my group of trading colleagues. We exchange ideas, challenge views, and share insights regularly. Their support keeps me grounded during vola

Do teachers really need a dedicated day of recognition? They already enjoy good pay and long school holidays, while many essential workers—like cleaners, nurses, and dishwashers—receive none. Perhaps respect should be practiced daily, not saved for a special occasion. In today’s digital age, learning is no longer one-to-many; we learn from each other through sharing.
