US stocks surged today as a wave of positive news hit simultaneously

US stocks surged today as a wave of positive news hit simultaneously, causing several major risk concerns that had previously weighed on the market to subside: 1) Signs of de-escalation in the Middle East. Supply concerns regarding the Strait of Hormuz eased and signs of shipping recovery emerged; the market began pricing in a reduction of the Middle East risk premium. 2) A window for renewed US-Iran negotiations. Trump expressed willingness to meet the Iranian president during the UN General Assembly; the market began betting on a diplomatic path reopening, significantly cooling expectations of further escalation in the Middle East crisis. 3) A sharp drop in oil prices. Brent crude briefly fell below $100 intraday, while WTI dropped to around $96. Lower oil prices offered a temporary repr

Strategy’s MSTR Paradox: The Bitcoin Machine Has a Bill to Pay

The Treasury Operation That Ate the Software Company At $153.92 on 18 September 2026, $Strategy(MSTR)$ carries a market capitalisation of $59.14 billion against trailing revenue of just $498.35 million. That gap is not necessarily a problem; it is the point. Investors are valuing Strategy less as a software company and more as a capital-markets vehicle built around Bitcoin, with digital assets carried at $49.67 billion at 30 June. I find it fascinating in the way a Rube Goldberg machine is fascinating: ingenious, elegant and slightly alarming once you count how many things need to go right. The question is whether it keeps creating value for common shareholders once the cost of maintaining it is properly counted. The software company became a mach

For me, $SpaceX(SPCX)$ moving from 1.28% to 2.82% in the Nasdaq 100 is interesting, but I would not chase it purely because of rebalancing. Passive funds may create short-term buying pressure, but that is mainly a technical flow, not a fundamental change. I am holding SPCX with a mid-to-long-term mindset, so I care more about what happens after the index buying settles. Starlink, launches and future AI infrastructure are exciting, but I still want to see how they translate into sustainable revenue and cash flow. My approach is to collect gradually and avoid FOMO. 😄 If SPCX rallies strongly from the index effect, I would rather let the short-term noise settle than chase the price. For me, long-term fundamentals and discipline matter more.

For me, this looks more like a relief rally than a signal that the Fed no longer matters. Easing Treasury yields and lower oil prices gave growth and semiconductor stocks room to recover, which helped names like $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ , $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ and $Micron Technology(MU)$ bounce strongly. I am still watching the 10-year yield closely. If yields remain high, valuation pressure could return, especially for growth stocks. Strong economic data also has a double edge: it supports earnings but may give the Fed more reason to keep rates higher for longer. For my portfolio

For me, the biggest takeaway is not the 25bp hike itself, but the “higher for longer” message. Sticky inflation and resilient growth give the Fed room to remain restrictive, so I am not expecting a quick return to easy money. I am watching this closely for growth and semiconductor stocks. Higher Treasury yields can pressure valuations, especially for high-growth names, while a stronger dollar and tighter liquidity add further pressure. However, solid economic growth could provide some support through earnings. For my portfolio, I am not trying to predict the next Fed move. I remain bullish on AI and semiconductors long term, but prefer gradual accumulation during pullbacks instead of chasing rallies. The bigger question for me is how long rates stay elevated, not just whether we get anoth

For me, this is a reminder that the AI infrastructure story is much bigger than GPUs. As clusters scale, moving data between accelerators becomes just as important as computing it. The shift from 800G to 1.6T and eventually 3.2T shows how quickly networking requirements are evolving. I am particularly interested in the optical side because bandwidth and power efficiency will become increasingly important as AI data centers scale. Companies like $COHERENT(COHR)$ , $Lumentum(LITE)$ $Marvell Technology(MRVL)$ and $

AI’s Next Arms Race Isn’t Just in GPUs — It’s in Optical Interconnects

@Tiger_comments:
3.2T and 6.4T solutions are showing up at ECOC 2026. The next AI bottleneck may be shifting from raw compute to connectivity. As AI clusters scale from thousands to hundreds of thousands of GPUs, one problem is becoming increasingly important: How do you move massive amounts of data between those GPUs fast enough — and without burning too much power? That is exactly why optical interconnects are becoming a bigger part of the AI infrastructure story. At ECOC 2026, Coherent showcased a 3.2T OSFP optical module as well as a 6.4T NPO optical engine designed for next-generation AI scale-up and scale-out networks. The direction is becoming clear: 800G → 1.6T → 3.2T And the upgrade is not just about higher headline speeds. The bigger shift is that optics are moving closer to the chip. As GPU dens

🌟🌟🌟While an extraordinary perfect storm of data center constraints has pushed $Micron Technology(MU)$ quarterly guidance toward a huge USD 35 billion, matching $Microsoft(MSFT)$ baseline profitability is a sprint, not a marathon. Treating memory chips like Microsoft's sticky recurring enterprise cloud monopoly is a dangerous assumption as memory chips are highly volatile commodities of the tech world. Micron's eye popping 84.6% gross margin is purely because average DRAM selling prices skyrocketed over 60%.  Price driven earnings are fast to arrive & can be just as fast to evaporate when supply catches up. A good strategy is to take some profits on Micron & let the remainder ride with a stop

$NVIDIA(NVDA)$   $Micron Technology(MU)$   $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$   $SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$   A 5% U.S. Treasury yield sounds very tempting. So if I could only choose: 🅰️ 5% Treasuries 🅱️ Stocks My answer is B, but with a twist. I would still choose stocks for their greater long-term upside, while treating 5% Treasuries as my paid waiting room for the next equity opportunity. Because when
