The 10 Shares Board Lot Revolution: DBS, OCBC, UOB and Keppel Are Finally In Your Reach!

🌟🌟🌟The Singapore Exchange has just dropped a financial bombshell that completely levels the playing field for everyday retail investors.  Starting Monday, 5 October 2026, SGD is officially smashing down its historic barriers, allowing investors to buy shares in tight, ultra accessible board lots of just 10 shares.  This is down from its restrictive 100 shares  limit. Before this structural revolution, if you wanted a piece of Singapore's most legendary dividend paying cash cows, you needed thousands of dollars upfront just to get your foot in the door.  High priced premium stocks were an exclusive playground for big institutional funds.  But overnight, the gates have been thrown wide open. By using Tiger Brokers' platform, this board lot reduction acts as a massive

The Megawatt Moat: NextEra’s $110 Billion Balancing Act

Wall Street increasingly has two versions of NextEra Energy. The bull sees an AI-power compounder: America needs enormous quantities of electricity, grid connections take years, and NextEra owns one of the deepest development pipelines in the industry. The bear sees something less glamorous: a heavily indebted utility spending almost $30 billion a year on capital projects while issuing debt and shares to keep the machine moving. I think both arguments deserve attention. The investment question is which version ultimately earns the higher valuation. At $76.83, $NextEra(NEE)$ is neither a nuclear momentum trade nor a sleepy income utility. It is increasingly a wager on whether the scarce asset in American power is not generation technology itself, bu

10%+ drop in Seagate and Western Digital. Is it justified?

2 October 2026 - Toshiba announced plans to double its hard disk drive production by fiscal 2027, with a $380 million investment to expand manufacturing capacity. This triggered sharp selloffs: Both Seagate fand Western Digital dropped 10%, though intraday lows were worse. Lets assess both sides of the story: Arguments the Drop IS Justified: Supply Risk is Real: Both stocks' big runs this year leave them sensitive to news suggesting the industry's supply and demand balance could loosen. Before the drop, Seagate shares were up 210% YTD, and Western Digital stock was up 150% YTD. 4Q26 Outlook | Good global growth is proving stronger than late cycle risks

The case for staying invested: Growth still outweighs the risks Over the past few months, investors have become increasingly focused on a range of late-cycle risks. Rising bond yields, persistent inflation, fuller capacity utilisation and labour markets with low unemployment rates have all contributed to concerns that the current economic expansion is operating under late cycle conditions. As a long-term investor, these are risks that I continue to monitor closely. Yet, despite an increasingly complex backdrop, the global economy continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience. Growth remains broadly supported across major regions, corporate earnings continue to exceed expectations, and business investment remains healthy. While the current environment exhibits several late-cycle characteri

One Side Of The Wheel Had A Great Week. The Other Expires Friday.

Mathematical Money | October 4, 2026 $MARA$ closed Friday at $11.24. A week earlier it was $12.53, so that's down 10.3% in five sessions and roughly 15% below where it traded in mid-September. I run both sides of a wheel on this name — calls above the position, puts below it. This week the two sides did completely opposite things, which is a useful illustration of what you're actually signing up for when you sell premium in both directions. The calls paid, because the stock fell On 18 September I sold calls at the $14 strike expiring 9 October, taking $0.73 each. By Thursday the stock had dropped far enough that those contracts were worth $0.0565 — effectively nothing. I closed them for a realised gain of $2,633 and immediately wrote new ones at the $13 strike, two weeks further out, for $

I asked an AI which religion it would convert to. Its answer shocked everyone

POV: You ask an ChatGPT  to pick a religion... Ans : If I had to hypothetically choose one religion to believe in and genuinely convert to, rather than just pick one based on culture or family background, I'd probably lean toward Buddhism, especially a more philosophical/less dogmatic form. Why: Emphasis on reducing suffering rather than simply obeying rules. Self-examination and mindfulness are central. It encourages questioning and examining one's own experience rather than requiring unquestioning faith. The ideas of impermanence, attachment, compassion, and acceptance make a lot of sense to me philosophically. There is relatively strong compatibility between Buddhist practice and a scientific/naturalistic worldview, although different Buddhist traditions make different superna

HDD Stocks Plunge 10%: Are Seagate and WDC Losing Their Scarcity Premium?

HDD stocks took a sharp hit in the latest session. $Seagate Technology(STX)$ and $Western Digital(WDC)$ both fell about 10.2%, even as the broader tech market held up much better. This was not a broad AI hardware selloff. The pressure was concentrated in HDD names, and the trigger came from Toshiba. Toshiba reportedly plans to invest around ¥60 billion to expand its Philippine operations and roughly double HDD capacity for AI data centers by fiscal 2027 compared with 2025 levels. The company is also targeting a much larger share of the global HDD market over time. That immediately raised a key concern for investors: if the industry’s No. 3 player starts adding meaningful capacity, how long can Seagate and W
HDD Stocks Plunge 10%: Are Seagate and WDC Losing Their Scarcity Premium?
TOPShyon: I think the selloff in Seagate and WDC is mainly about future supply, not weakening AI storage demand. Toshiba’s planned capacity expansion reminds the market that strong demand and high margins will eventually attract more competition. The key concern is whether the current HDD scarcity and pricing power can last into 2027 and beyond. Personally, I do not think the AI storage thesis is broken yet. Toshiba’s new capacity will take time to ramp, while hyperscalers continue investing heavily in AI infrastructure. I would watch Toshiba’s ramp-up, long-term supply agreements and HDD pricing closely before drawing any major conclusions. For me, the key question is simple: can AI storage demand keep growing faster than HDD supply? If yes, this 10% drop could prove to be an overreaction. If supply grows too quickly and pricing weakens, however, it could be an early warning that the HDD cycle is changing. @TigerStars @Tiger_comments @Tiger_SG @TigerClub @WallStreet_Tiger

$SPX Hammer Candle Is Signaling a Bounce

👀 $S&P 500(.SPX)$ is showing a potential bounce setup. The hammer candle bounced directly off the 50-day moving average, which suggests buyers are stepping in at an important level. But the setup has a clear line in the sand: 🔑 $7,656 must hold today.
