Market Structure Watch:Gold Holds 4,130; Crude Oil Eyes 94 Breakout💰📈

English version: U.S. Dollar: 102.1–101.6 Is the Key Range On October 8, the U.S. Dollar Index rallied but failed to break above its previous high before pulling back, closing the day with a bearish candle featuring a long upper wick. In my view, near-term upward momentum has weakened somewhat. For October 9, my initial focus is on the 102.1–101.6 range. If the index continues to struggle to break decisively above resistance, a pullback in the dollar could provide support for gold.$美元指数(USDindex.FOREX)$ Gold: The Intraday Bias Remains Bullish as Long as 4,130 Holds Gold traded within a roughly $40 range on October 8, with repeated intraday swings as buyers and sellers battled for control. The Dow Closed Higher While the Nasdaq Lost 1.25 Per Cent. What Split Them?

The indices: the selling stayed inside technology, so the Nasdaq fell while the Dow closed higher The three indices split on Thursday: the $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ fell 1.25 per cent to 27,193.34, the steepest of them; the $S&P 500(.SPX)$ fell 0.47 per cent to 7,765.36; and the $Dow Jones(.DJI)$ rose 0.10 per cent to 51,231.60. The 10-year Treasury yield came back from 5.28 per cent to 5.23 per cent on the same day. The Dow Closed Higher While the Nasdaq Lost 1.25 Per Cent. What Split Them?
TOP吉3186: Conservative Views on AI Stock Pullback In my personal opinion, the 5.34% drop in Intel's stock price illustrates that during market panic, a single piece of positive news may not be enough to support the stock price. Investors are more concerned about the prospects of the entire semiconductor industry, company profitability, and market sentiment. The long-term development trend of AI still deserves attention, but OpenAI's revenue expectations, chip demand, and AI debt issues all remind us that we cannot only look at orders, but also at whether customers have the ability to continue paying. If it were me, I wouldn't rush to buy at the bottom just because the stock price is falling, nor would I sell immediately just because there are no positive news. Instead, I would first look at the financial statements, cash flow, debt, and valuation. My view is that short-term stock prices may be influenced by emotions, but long-term stock prices ultimately depend on performance. Investing requires patience and, more importantly, risk control. Avoid blindly chasing high prices or easily gambling on a rebound.

It's better to understand this from an institutional trader's POV. if you had a position in this at the start of the year, and your OCBC position is up 50% YTD, and it is now October, this analyst's report is just the excuse for you to exit or trim your position. 👟 Nike Down 80% — Bargain or Value Trap?

Nike ($NKE) has fallen from its 2021 peak of $179 to around $34, wiping out more than $210 billion in market value. Now, Goldman Sachs’ reported purchase of 4.9 million shares has investors asking whether the sell-off has gone too far. 📉 Why consider buying? ✅ A globally recognised brand with strong sports and lifestyle appeal. ✅ Potential upside if management successfully turns the business around. ✅ A lower share price could offer an opportunity if earnings recover. ⚠️ Why be cautious? ❌ Nike expects revenue to decline by a high-single-digit percentage in FY2027. ❌ Competition and weaker demand are putting pressure on sales. ❌ A falling share price doesn’t automatically mean a stock is cheap. Goldman’s buying is interesting, but institutional purchases don’t guarantee a rebound. My view:
👟 Nike Down 80% — Bargain or Value Trap?
TOPAgathaHume: I’d lean bargain here. Brand equity still matters, and at around 34 the market looks like it’s pricing in a way uglier earnings path than a normal turnaround.

The Fed Minutes Point to Another Increase. Why Did Long Yields Not Wait?

The indices: all three fell back from record closes, and the Dow lost 0.66 per cent The three indices moved back from the previous day's record closes on Wednesday: the $Dow Jones(.DJI)$ Average fell 0.66 per cent to 51,179.90, the largest decline; the $S&P 500(.SPX)$ fell 0.22 per cent to 7,801.77; and the $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ Composite fell 0.22 per cent to 27,538.69. The pressure came from the bond market: the 10-year Treasury yield reached 5.36 per cent at its intraday peak and closed at 5.28 per cent, while the 30-year touched 5.73 per cent and closed at 5.66 per cent. Minutes from the Federal Reserve's Septemb
The Fed Minutes Point to Another Increase. Why Did Long Yields Not Wait?
TOP吉3186: Personally, I pay more attention to long-term US Treasury yields, rather than just whether the Federal Reserve will continue its rate hike this year. In the short term, interest rate cuts/rate hike expectations will affect the market; However, if the 10-year and 30-year yields remain high, I think it is more likely due to the fiscal deficit, bond issuance supply, and market demands for long-term inflation. This will directly put pressure on valuations, especially highly valued AI and technology stocks. Furthermore, Samsung's recent surge in profits indicates that the demand for memory is indeed very strong, but I will not immediately chase after MU, SNDK, and SKHY just because of the surge in profits. What matters now is whether price increases can continue, whether shipments have kept up, and whether high profits will stimulate more production capacity. Therefore, my approach is still: not to chase high prices, to buy in batches, and to focus on whether the 10-year yield can return below 5.2% and whether the company's profits can truly keep up with the valuation.

The Dividend Snowball: SPDR STI vs Amova STI ETF: How To Own Singapore's Banks Without The Heartache

🌟🌟🌟There is a quiet, almost invisible magic built into the concrete foundations of Singapore.  It doesn't scream for attention like a volatile tech stock on Wall Street, nor does it keep you awake at 3am in a cold sweat.  It is the steady unyielding power of financial compounding. Compounding is the financial equivalent of rolling a tiny snowball down Bukit Timah Hill.  At first it looks insignificant.  But as it rolls, the snow picks up more snow.  In the investing world, your money makes babies and then those babies have babies, until you are suddenly sitting on a generational empire. In Singapore, the kings of this compounding kingdom are our local banking trio: $DBS(D05.SI)$

OpenAI’s Annualized Revenue Is Closer to $50B — Not the $70B Many Investors Thought

A new OpenAI investor disclosure is forcing the market to take a closer look at one of the most important numbers in the AI boom. According to the latest investor materials, OpenAI’s annualized revenue was approaching $50 billion at the end of September. That is still an extraordinary growth rate, but it is roughly $20 billion lower than the nearly $70 billion figure that had been circulating in the market just days earlier. The important point is that OpenAI did not suddenly lose $20 billion of revenue. The gap appears to come largely from different accounting and comparison methodologies. Some earlier estimates adjusted OpenAI’s revenue to make it more comparable with Anthropic, including revenue generated through cloud partners or distribution arrangements. OpenAI’s own reported run-rat
OpenAI’s Annualized Revenue Is Closer to $50B — Not the $70B Many Investors Thought
TOP苏36: ④ The real AI bubble test isn't whether revenue reaches $50 billion or $70 billion. It's whether revenue can eventually justify the enormous infrastructure bill. A $50 billion annualized run rate is still impressive, but annualized revenue isn't realized annual revenue, and neither guarantees positive cash flow. Investors must distinguish genuine customer demand from growth supported by cloud credits, strategic partnerships, or financing arrangements. Here's the uncomfortable question: What happens if AI revenue keeps growing, but infrastructure spending grows even faster? GPU makers like NVIDIA and memory suppliers like Micron could face valuation pressure if hyperscalers slow spending. The danger isn't that AI suddenly becomes useless; it's that the market has priced in monetization arriving faster than reality. AI may be a revolutionary technology, but even revolutions have to pay their bills. @Tiger_comments [龇牙]
