Alibaba Why it might outperform: Alibaba has been a focal point for investors due to its dominant position in e-commerce and cloud computing.  Analysts, like those from Goldman Sachs (October 2024), have raised price-to-earnings targets for MSCI China companies, suggesting stocks like Alibaba could benefit from policy support and undervaluation (forward P/E around 9.07 as of mid-2024). KraneShares also emphasized internet companies as potential outperformers in their 2025 outlook. Risks: Regulatory pressures and competition remain concerns, but its low valuation might attract contrarian investors.

Recently, Chinese assets have shown remarkable performance in the global market, particularly driven by the strong rebound in the Hong Kong tech sector, which has quickly boosted market sentiment. During the Spring Festival, the launch of the domestic large model, DeepSeek, sparked heated discussions, further propelling the rally in both Hong Kong stocks and U.S.-listed Chinese stocks. In the Hong Kong market,  $XIAOMI-W(01810)$ saw significant gains,  $SMIC(00981)$ soared by 46%, and $KINGSOFT CLOUD(03896)$ surged by 42%. DeepSeekโ€™s rise is impressive, but I prefer a long-term, research-driven investment approach. While its innovations are significant, big tech companies like Microsoft $Microsoft(MSFT)$ , Meta $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$, and Amazon $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ have the infrastructure and capital to dominate AI. Their AI integration offers more sustainable growth opportunities than chasing concept stocks. Iโ€™m cautiously optimistic about Chinese assets in 2025. DeepSeek may help narrow the valuation discount, but geopolitical and regulatory risks remain. Iโ€™d focus on strong, policy-aligned companies rather than speculation. Big techโ€™s AI spending should benefit NVIDIA
I think deep seek should be seen as a catalyst for the AI industry. Despite it being seen as a "threat" by many people, it increases competition which is definitely a good thing. Competition is always the driver for innovation. I'm still bullish on both $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ and also China assets. Just because deepseek is built on older chips does not mean that American companies like nvidia is going to go down hill. Precisely because of algorithms innovation from deepseek allows much more room to for AI to grow, allowing for even more potential for the high end chips. Also people should stop udmerestimating china. Yes I agree that China stocks are more "risky" because of the unpredictable nature of the government. But we have to constantly keep in mind
