$SPY, $SMH & $QQQ: Is This Relief Rally Losing Steam?

The market has bounced, but the latest price action raises questions about whether buyers have enough conviction to push higher. Three key charts are flashing caution signals. 1. $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ We have seen solid bounces with green candles or gap-ups. Today, we saw an indecisive candle finding rejection at the 20-day moving average. Low daily volume also suggests caution for this bounce. 2. $VanEck Semiconductor ETF(SMH)$ The bounce in tech was mostly driven by semiconductors. However, that red candle shows everything but conviction, not to mention the low daily volume. 3. $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ The relief bounce mentioned happened as expected, now th

📉 Did I Buy the Bottom? I’m Buying Opportunities, Not Chasing the Lowest Price

My answer is yes, I’m looking for opportunities during this pullback, but I’m not going to pretend I know where the bottom is. When the market starts falling, investors tend to split into three groups. Some see lower prices as a chance to buy quality stocks at a discount. Others prefer to wait for the market to stabilise before making a move. And then there are investors who want to buy the dip but have already used most of their available cash. Honestly, I can understand all three perspectives. A market pullback can create attractive opportunities, but it can also test our patience and confidence. A stock that has fallen 10% might look cheap today, only to fall another 10% next week. On the other hand, waiting for complete certainty could mean missing the early stages of a recovery. So, r

Morgan Stanley Turns Bullish on 8 Biotech Stocks: PTCT and BLTE Lead With Billion-Dollar Drug Opport

Morgan Stanley has initiated coverage on eight biotechnology companies spanning rare diseases, eye disorders, lung diseases and mental health. The firm sees significant potential in $PTC Therapeutics(PTCT)$ and $Belite Bio, Inc.(BLTE)$ , while $Trevi Therapeutics, Inc.(TRVI)$ and $COMPASS Pathways plc(CMPS)$ offer additional opportunities tied to clinical progress and potential commercialization. October Hike Risk Fades: Risk-On Wave Builds as Gold Eyes a Major Breakout

The latest US inflation data had raised concerns that the Federal Reserve could deliver three rate hikes this year. However, recent CME FedWatch data indicate little risk of an additional hike in October. Combined with the continued decline in Treasury yields, this suggests that risk on trading may dominate in the near term. As the fourth quarter approaches, however, any rally in risk assets could prove to be the “last dance.” Even a sharp advance should not be mistaken for a durable trend. $E-mini S&P 500 - main 2612(ESmain)$ $S&P 500(.SPX)$ $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$

SpaceX Reports First. This Week Could Tell Us Which AI Trade Actually Deserves Its Valuation.

After the recent tech selloff, this earnings week arrives at exactly the right moment. SpaceX reports Tuesday, followed by Meta and Tesla. The market already knows these companies can spend enormous amounts of money. Now it wants evidence that those billions are producing returns. My ranking going into earnings: 🥇 META: strongest proof of AI monetisation 🥈 SpaceX: highest upside surprise potential 🥉 TSLA: highest execution risk 🔵 SPACEX: THE FIRST TEST At roughly $145, SpaceX goes first. Consensus is around $12.96B revenue and $0.139 EPS, but those headline numbers are not what I would trade. I am watching: Starlink growth → launch economics → margins → AI infrastructure opportunity. The bull case becomes much stronger if Starlink growth remains powerful while operating leverage improves.

Warsh Refuses to Guide the Market. That Makes the Fed Meeting More Dangerous, Not More Hawkish.

QQQ fell 2.50% Friday, while the S&P 500 lost 1.11%. The obvious explanation is hotter inflation plus Fed uncertainty. But I think the more useful interpretation is this: The market is not pricing a guaranteed hike. It is repricing the probability that rates stay restrictive for longer. That distinction matters enormously for what I would buy next. 🔵 WHY WARSH'S SILENCE MATTERS Warsh declined to pre-commit ahead of the 27-28 October meeting. That is not automatically hawkish. But markets dislike uncertainty, particularly when valuations are elevated. Hotter CPI and PPI have already weakened the case for easier policy. If bond markets begin pricing another hike, long-duration technology gets hit first because its valuation depends heavily on future earnings. That explains why QQQ fell m

Investing 101: The SGX SDR Series: Why Invest In SDRs

🌟🌟👍Welcome to Investing 101: The SDR Series.  In this series we are shining a spotlight on the top picks for each country covered by the Singapore Exchange.   The Singapore Depository Receipt or SDR as it is more popularly known ,was officially launched on 30 May 2023. The Origin Story: How It Began  The original idea was simple: local investors were suffering from serious FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) on regional growth but did not want the headache of managing overseas brokerage accounts and multi currency exchange fees.  SGX gave them a passport to buy great companies listed overseas right here at home. The Growth Explosion: From Local Pilot to Global Giants  What started as a modest regional experiment has snowballed into an absolute cross border empire.

Investing 101 Series: Spotlight on Hong Kong SDRs - 5 Undervalued SDRs To Consider Buying

🌟🌟🌟 Let's be honest: looking at recent performance, the Hong Kong market requires a strong stomach and a large box of tissues.  The Hang Seng Index has felt less like a sophisticated financial hub and more like a malfunctioning elevator.  Between macroeconomic jitters and international investors sitting on their hands, Hong Kong equities have taken a huge structural beating. But as any veteran investor will tell you, a depressed market is exactly where generational wealth is built.  When everyone else is panicking, the bargain bins open up. Welcome to Investing 101: The SDR Series Part 2.  Today's spotlight is on the high octane, deeply discounted world of Hong Kong SDRs. Thanks to Singapore Depository Receipts (SDRs), you can load up on Hong Kong's most resilient mega

Why Do Hospitals Buy Biodegradable Medical Consumables? What Does AJJ’s Contract Cover?

$AJJ Medtech(584.SI)$   A small disposable item may be used across a hospital every day. At institutional scale, changing its material is more than a sustainability choice: procurement must also consider product suitability and dependable supply. AJJ Medtech disclosed an approximately S$3 million contract to supply biodegradable medical consumables to a network of Singapore healthcare institutions. The initial term began on 1 June 2026 and runs for two years, with an option to extend for another two. The announcement identifies the product category, not an item-by-item supply list. Using its internal model, AJJ estimates the contract could avoid more than 600 tonnes of fossil-based CO₂ emissions annually. That is an estimate, not a me

Oct 21 morning call 📊 Beginner’s Guide: Netflix, SpaceX and KeyCorp Earnings — How These Three Catalysts Could Move Their Shares and the Nasdaq-100 (QQQ) Share Link

Options Puppy | Earnings Season Special | 20 October 2026 🐶 1. Why I Pay Attention to Earnings Season When I look at an earnings calendar, I do not just see three companies preparing to announce their financial results. I see three potential catalysts that could change investors’ expectations, move individual share prices and influence market sentiment. In the earnings calendar you shared, the three companies are: 1. Netflix (NFLX) Entertainment and streaming Investors will focus on subscriber growth, advertising revenue, pricing power and operating margins. 2. SpaceX (SPCX on your calendar) Space launches and satellite communications The key questions concern launch demand, Starlink revenue, capital expenditure and profitability.
